  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

Very beautiful park area, nice to walk in neighbouring forests, and playing golf on the premises. Spacious accomodation. Only drawback is you hear the neigbours very well, but for privacy you can rent a cottage. You have to drive to the village for a restaurant

L'environnement du domaine est magnifique mais le gîte que nous avions était vieux et pas extrêmement propre. La piscine est agréable par contre car plein sud et les promenades dans le domaine sont très agréables. pour les amateurs de golf et de tennis c'est l'endroit idéal.

Nuit etape pour nous Bous avons choisi cet hébergement proche de notre destination finale pour le calme, l’espace vert et la cusine équipée. Tres beau domaine. Peut mieux faire sur la propreté (un peu de poussiere, meuble dans son jus) Cependant, nous avons bien dormi et pris notre petit dej avec le chant des oiseaux. Cest agreable

Le domaine d’Essendieras est magnifique et nous prenons plaisir à chaque fois que nous y retournons. Que ce soit pour le parcours 9 trous, le cours de tennis, les petits coins de pêche ou encore simplement pour profiter de la nature environnante. Les logements sont tout en simplicité, dans la rusticité typique du Périgord mais reste très confortable. Notre dernière location était au petit veneur avec une vue très très relaxante sur le jardin. Nous y reviendrons c’est certain!

Wow what an amazing place! Had a beautiful walk in the gardens and woods. Breakfast was great. The only thing to bear in mind is the place is very old and the rooms whilst clean and comfortable do show some signs of age. We would definitely go back
