"Had a lovely stay at Windsor cottage. Well presented, great amenities and the most comfortable bed in the master bedroom. Slept like a log! Ate out in local restaurants, which were lovely especially Alberto’s Italy. There are a couple of free parking areas in town 5-10 minutes away. During our stay there was a film set in place for Father Brown and a restriction at the end of the road. It didn’t take away from our stay, but was glad of the premier inn parking just a 100m away. "We got to the hotel at midday. The staff at the reception was super helpful. I was only wondering if we can use the pool before check-in - travelling with two young kids. The staff (sorry I didn't ask her name) kindly let us check-in to our room early. The outdoor area is super chill. The pool was enough for kids to play. I did feel like we were too noisy for the guests there though. The room is specious. The location is brilliant as it's only few steps away from town centre. Would highly recommend!"

"Stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and spacious. Good facilities in room but it was incredibly hot during our visit so a fridge in room would have improved our stay as no air conditioning but not many days in England you would need it. Breakfast was lovely, small but everything you could want. Evening menu was a bit limited and I probably would go somewhere else for an evening meal. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful."

"For a 4 star hotel, this isn't an ideal place to stay when there is a heatwave. The room we were given was unbearably hot and we couldn't open our windows; no air con. The fans were poor and didn't do anything. Myself being pregnant and having a 5 year old, we couldn't stay here so ended up having to find another accommodation. There was a couple of timed power outages which also ruined the experience. I would say the only good thing about this hotel was the swimming pool."

"Had historic room but was up two flights of stairs and no lift. Restaurant meant a walk outside. Weather was good but would be a problem if not. Breakfast was £13. Was ok. Pool was £12 per day which we did not know until we arrived. Plenty of parking and lovely grounds. Some parts greatly in need of refurbishment."

"The hotel is someway out of the centre of Oxford, which makes a stay very affordable, compared to inner city accommodation. The Peartree Park and ride makes travel into the city very easy, and it runs every few minutes. If buses aren't your thing, Ubers are plentiful and cheap out of peak times.Staff at the hotel were very helpful, friendly and professional , the food at the restaurant was good with plenty of choices. Highly recommend A+"

Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford

"A really convenient hotel for central Oxford (and Blenheim) as close to the park and ride. There's a bus stop directly outside the hotel that takes you right into the centre of the city for less than £3 - meaning you can avoid the congestion & clean air zone charges by leaving the car in the huge car park. Reception is lovely, as are the staff, lots of little extras...free fruit, free cold drinks & spritz for the grown ups - which on the hotest day of the year was very welcome! The bedroom was spacious & the air con actually worked & the room cooled within minutes, which as the temps reached 34° was a huge bonus & meant we slept soundly! Only criticism would be, whilst the bedroom looked relatively newly renovated, the bathroom was dire!!! The bath had repairs around the edge with sharp edges on the bath side, the door hinges were orange with rust and the bottom of the door had huge chunks of psint missiing... tbf the whole bathroom felt like it hadn't been updated since the early 80s & it was tiny! The bedroom was huge & could easily have given space up to a larger bathroom. We only stayed for one night so didnt raise the issue with the poorly repaired bathroom with reception, but when I stay here again (and I will stay here again!) I will insist that the room we are given have a much better/updated bathroom next time."
