I appreciated the positive nature of the owner and his willingness to answer my questions and to assure I had as good stay. The facilities are a little tired and in need of an upgrade, but everything worked as it should, the room was pretty clean, and the rates were the fairest around. Plus if you like to walk, you can access many of Abilene’s coolest spots from the Diamond Motel. I would definitely stay here again. I usually stay at hotels near I70, but there’s not a lot to walk to from there. There is good coffee to be had at the gas station across the street from the Diamond Motel.

The room was marginally clean. There were no towels, no soap. They provided coffee cups and creamer but no coffee. The refrigerator was dirty.

Rebirth of a GEM!

The motel is being renovated so it's in transition. It was a good value and the the owner made sure we were taken care of relative to room temp. and cable TV. I'm confident next year it will be even better!

Loved the motel! So much better than big chain hotels. Very clean, matress was so comfortable and location was in a nice neighborhood instead of by the interstate noise. Owner showed us to our room and checked to make sure all was well. Would definately stay here again.
