"I stayed here on a whim. This was the best stay in hotel I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in some very amazing 5 star hotels. The beds were very comfortable. They upgraded my room to include a terrace that overlooked the beautiful courtyard. It was very clean. For such a storied property, the room, grounds, dining, and pool facilities are impeccably cared for and no detail is overlooked. The staff were authentically friendly and helpful. (You can tell when people are schmoozing for a tip. I never felt that here.) This hotel is genuinely beautiful. Its early 20th century charm is present even though it’s been updated. The food was excellent. Nothing I tried was disappointing. I brought colleagues and guests for lunches, dinners, and afternoon tea and all were very impressed. It was a work trip, and I never felt like I had to leave the hotel to eat, find a quiet place to work, or for small inconveniences that inevitably come up. They took care of everything and coming back at the end of the day or after meetings was relaxing and tranquil. I will stay here again. "
