"Fantastic Glamping Stay at Hacienda Guachipelín! We loved our stay at Hacienda Guachipelín, especially the glamping! Our tent had a private plunge pool (the hot tub is by the main pool) and was tucked away from the busy hotel area. The complimentary breakfast delivered to our tent was incredible—and huge! Eating outside in the cool morning air while watching white-faced monkeys was unforgettable. Just keep an eye on your food: the monkeys can be aggressive. We moved our trays inside and they left us alone. Dinner was excellent too. Although the main restaurant was closed during the off-season, both menus were available, and we enjoyed wine, dessert, and live music. The guided volcano hike was reasonably priced, with a great guide. We also loved the hot springs (98–104°F). Evenings are quieter, but some pools start closing for cleaning around 5 p.m. Don't miss the modern lookout point with its hanging cargo nets and gorgeous views! A few tips: Download WhatsApp to contact the front desk, get maps and menus, and order breakfast. Bring bug spray for hikes. The golf cart can pick you up at the glamping tents, usually within five minutes—great for anyone with mobility concerns. Breakfast trays are collected roughly 90 minutes after delivery; you can also request indoor setup to avoid the monkeys. Beautiful property, great food and so much to do. We'd happily return!"

"A hidden gem in guanacaste province! By far my favorite place, from the warm welcome, to the well-thought out layout of our cabin, to the excellent service all around! The place is clean, safe, well maintained, easy to navigate even for our young kids, who felt right at home. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a chocolate drink and a tasting of various locally crafted cacao products. The breakfast, traditional costa rican, is made fresh every morning, with coffee/tea/hot chocolate included! Dinner in 2026 is 18 USD per adult and 12 USD per child. Well worth it even if it's slightly pricier than local sodas: it's a genuine farm-to-table experience, includes a fresh fruit juice and dessert. We did the included cacao tour (and learned so much!) as well as the paid chocolate workshop (so much fun, and you get to take home 3 tablets of personalized chocolate per person! In 2026, it was 120 USD for our family of four). And what to say about the staff! Friendly, kind, and super patient with the children :) The included spa is gorgeous; we felt like we were right in paradise on earth! Yoga mats, hot bath, cold bath, showers, all in the middle of a gorgeous tropical setting! An ecologically friendly place; they recycle, they promote responsable handling of nature, and, the cacao farm is sustainably managed and organic!"

"Absolutely magical. Pictures do not do Malekus Mountain Lodge justice - it's truly so special and lovely, a work of art not just a place to stay. Roger and Rosey were kind, attentive hosts. The location was beautiful. We had wonderful breakfasts on site and a fantastic dinner just 600 meters away. With only 7 rooms and an intimate feel, this would be a perfect place for a family reunion, small destination wedding, or friends trip. Do know going in that the rooms are small and intimate, and there is no air-conditioning. However, the climate was temperate and the rooms and lodge are well-suited and comfortable. We loved everything about our stay - except for that we didn't get to stay longer! Already hoping to come again!!"
