"Overall affordable hotel in a decent location.
Good: good value, spacious rooms, close to night markets.
Bad: a bit far from transport, noisy AC, poor amenities.

"Besides locating at the prime location in Kaohsiung (I am from Kaohsiung, so I can definitely say this out loud) right at the subway R-14 exit, it is also located next to the park (away from the busy street), there is another nice hotel right next, but R-14 Hotel is at a better site as it is in the inner part (on a smaller street). However, what makes this hotel stands out is its excellency of staffing. The owner of this hotel should give everyone a raise, seriously! They truely work as a team. They don't just treat guests as customers, they treat us like family. I had an unexpected nasty fall in this May raining season to the point to be taken to the hospital. When the hotel staff saw me and learned about it, they all went to get the ice for me and constantly asking about my recovery (they even made special ice packs!). From the Front Desk staff, to the dinning hall staff, to room service staff, their sweet tender loving characters definitely shine through, really made our 2 weeks stay truly one of the best travel experiences so far in life. Thank you R-14 Hotel staff, we will definitely come stay the next time we are in Kaohsiung! (I only got one question to the hotel owner, where did you find all your staff? Your manager and/or the hiring manager must have some kind of special power!! You don't just have employees, what you have is a TEAM). Well done!"
"The CP ratio is unbelievable high. An excellent choice for someone like me who just want a clean and convenient place to stay without any fancy stuffs like high ceiling lobby or beautiful artwork. The breakfast is fine but the drinks are too sweet for me. The shower curtain only covers half the space which is strange. Room size is acceptable for a sole traveler like me. Staff are helpful and friendly. Overall a nice stage and many thanks for the value provided."

Yes, there are holiday rentals close to the most popular sights in Sandimen, or you can select a more secluded option if you're looking for a relaxing stay.
What can I see and do in Sandimen?
Dajin Waterfall and K'ou-she Levee are a couple of lovely local spots to get outside and enjoy nature. While here, Sandimen Cultural Centre and Zhuzilun are other places worth a visit.
What are holiday rentals like in Sandimen?
Holiday rentals are privately owned properties you can book for a few days, or a quick weekend, in Sandimen. Holiday rentals provide amenities such as patios, hot tubs and fire pits so you'll have everything you need. If you're concerned about a sanitised environment, holiday rentals can provide a sense of safety away from public hotel lifts and lobbies bustling with people while still allowing you the enjoyment of travel. You'll also find more space in a holiday rental than in a hotel, which is another reason why a holiday rental is a popular option for a family trip or a small group gathering.
