"The Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belén is the place to be if you need to stay in San José for one or two days.
First of all, the building itself is stunning, and the surrounding gardens are beautifully maintained. It feels like a peaceful oasis and offers a striking contrast to the rest of San José, while still being conveniently close to the airport.
The rooms are slightly noisy, but the staff more than make up for it—they are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and service-oriented.
The gym is excellent. We were hoping to play pickleball, but unfortunately there was no net available.
The swimming pools are a very welcome addition and add to the relaxed, resort-like atmosphere.
For lunch and dinner, the restaurants La Castilla, La Isabela, and Bar 10 are all highly recommended. For breakfast, I would skip the relatively expensive buffet and instead go to Casa del Café, where you can enjoy a delicious à la carte breakfast along with excellent coffee and pastries.
In terms of price, it was comparable to an airport hotel, but the experience felt much more like a mini vacation."
"Amazing hotel! Amazing staff! A gem in the downtown area of San Jose! Close to museums and parks, local markets, restaurants, and shopping. Check out El Social bar and eÑe shop for great gifts! The breakfast at the hotel is good with lots of choices! The roof top restaurant is a MUST!
Stay here if you can!!!!"
