The room was spacious and well equipped; however, the floor I stayed on had a noticeable musty smell. The bathroom could use some remodeling. It was winter, and I was only provided with a thin blanket in addition to the sheet. The breakfast is very good, with plenty of options. The lobby is beautiful and modern.

Since 2014 I’ve stayed at the former TRYP, now Meliá Hotel! The hotel is very nice and quiet. The neighborhood is very nice, with plenty to local shops and a 15 minute walk down to the Tatuapé Mall! The rooms are very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend that Hotel!

Room was clean and comfortable, tough the chairs could get a refresh, staff was friendly and courteous, the location is great, close by malls and public transportation (Subway) and safe to walk around during the day. My only complain is with their Wi-Fi, it simply didn't work during my stay. Their IT team was helpful and tried to troubleshoot and showed YouTube from their phones but we know streaming can't really compare with a MS Teams Call, I even switched to another floor where it was working a bit better, but still it was not even close to what would be needed for corporate use. I had to take all my calls audio only and even so, the audio was choppy and breaking, was unsuccessful trying to use camera or sharing screens, so be aware of that if you plan to work during your stay as I did.

The worst check in ever

I was unable to check in because the room was not cleaned. The solutions provided were illogical, as I was required to pay out of my own pocket for the night in another hotel, as well as for transportation, and then request a reimbursement the following day. All of this without any formal or physical documentation, as they did not have official letters bearing their logo. After four and a half hours, I was offered solutions directly by Hotels.com, and they corroborated the situation by contacting those responsible for it. I must point out that this was going to be my first visit to the city and my first time staying at the Meliá hotel chain. However, I doubt my company, my family, and I will ever stay there again.

The hotel was very nice and very clean. The restaurant had many options and the food was very good. The only thing I was disappointed about, was the pool. I like to spend a lot of time by the pool and meet other people and enjoy the sun. The pool is extremely small and nobody uses it. My only complaint and I am still working on this, I paid cash for almost every meal at the hotel and then when I was checking out late at night, after the restaurant had already closed, I noticed on my bill they had charged at least four dinners to my account, which I paid for in cash. I am still trying to work this out, but this left me with a bad impression.

I am writing to share my unfortunate experience at the Meliá Tatuapé on Thursday, December 12, 2024, which occurred during my check-in at approximately 9:20 PM. Upon my arrival, I found the entrance area vacant, except for one employee at the front desk wearing a name tag that read, “Hendell - Trainee.” He was engaged in a telephone conversation, which concluded after about five minutes with a “beijo” (kiss in Portuguese). During this time, I waited patiently but grew increasingly uncomfortable due to a large ventilator behind the desk that directed a perfumed scent towards me. The scent, reminiscent of a cheap, all-purpose cleaner, caused my eyes to sting and water. Pressed for time and already unsettled, I was further disappointed when Hendell, who had seen me pacing for several minutes, finally addressed me. He located my reservation and informed me of the charges. To my surprise, the amount was higher than the price I had booked via Expedia, where the listing clearly stated that all taxes and fees were included. When I questioned the discrepancy, Hendell insisted on a “voucher” from Expedia. I explained that I only had an “itinerary” and struggled to access it on my phone due to my watering eyes. I requested that he verify the information directly on the Expedia webpage, which explicitly displayed the room rate as inclusive of all charges. Unfortunately, Hendell refused to acknowledge this and continued to demand a voucher. After 15 min, my patience wore thin, I left.

Reservei o hotel para comemorar o dia dos namorados. Ao chegar no hotel após o jantar entrei em contato com a recepção solicitando 2 taças de espumante. Recebi o comunicado que o restaurante estava trancado e não era possível pegar as taças. Como assim? Até os hotéis mais simples nunca tive uma negativa deste tipo. Tomar espumante no copo foi frustrante. Não fui informada da indisponibilidade do serviço durante o check-in. Acho que são informações importantes a serem passadas aos hóspedes. Outro ponto negativo do quarto foi o ar condicionado barulhento. Acordamos com dor de cabeça pelo barulho. No banheiro o chuveiro não era muito quente. Ou era morno ou gelado. Café da manhã bom.

Taxas absurdas de check-in antecipado, mesmo havendo quartos disponíveis, e check-out tardio (meia diária), coisas que na concorrência costumam cobrar valores simbólicos ou nem cobrar. Especialmente quando você trata uma cliente GESTANTE que ficou esperando cerca de 5 horas pra entrar no quarto! Em um dos dias as frutas no café da manhã estavam com gosto de perdido. E de fato estavam pois no dia seguinte estavam ótimas. Após uma manhã na piscina, os cartões de hotel bloquearam o acesso ao quarto ANTES do horário de checkout, deixando minha esposa, volto a dizer, GESTANTE, de fora do quarto, de toalha, tendo que ir à recepção resolver. Detalhe: ela já havia avisado que faria um checkout tardio! O que salvou foi o quarto que era bom e alguns funcionários que foram educados e atenciosos. Acho que pelo valor cobrado nas diárias, o hotel deveria ter um pouco mais de cuidado com algumas questões, principalmente a cordialidade e a dignidade dos clientes. Infelizmente a experiência não foi boa! Defino minha experiência como “frustrante”! A viagem foi necessária para participação em um evento que ocorre todo ano. Ano que vem, infelizmente esse hotel está fora das opções!
