Surf Inn
8/10 Good
"I’ve stayed at this sweet roadside motel a couple of times over the years. What I love about it is that it’s dog friendly and it’s right there on the bluff. The rooms are clean. I’ll be at small. I do wish they had privacy curtains/blinds on the windows, they do have blackout curtains, but if you want to be in your room during the day, it feels very public and privacy screening on the windows would be a great addition. The furniture is too big for the size of the rooms, especially for the smaller rooms and it’s hard to find places to even put your suitcase. I had my suitcase open on the table, which meant I could not use the table for anything other than my luggage. The value and location of this roadside Inn is great. It’s not a place you want to hang out for an extended period of time due to the small size of the rooms but for a night traveling up the coast it’s perfect."
Cottages on River Road

"Boutique style bedding and breakfast. Nice and quiet. Will go back there again."
Ocean Cove Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"This place is great. Easy to get in on a bike. Rooms are VERY clean and in great shape. Our room had a little free standing gas stove. Staff is very friendly, bar and grill in the parking lot was great also. Check it out."
The Madrones
8/10 Good
"This is one of my favorite places to stay. Lovely, charming, unhurried with beautiful architecture and grounds. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was exactly as I recall it being roughly 12 years ago - spacious, lovingly decorated, attentive details everywhere with luxurious, high quality furnishings. The Madrones is a welcome respite in Anderson Valley and great home base for local wine tasting. The restaurant was still as cozy and intimate as I remembered, with simple but carefully crafted dishes. The dining courtyard could not be more charming. The ambiance is unbeatable at The Madrones and our experience was overwhelmingly positive. (There were a couple of minor areas of improvement: the tv wasn't properly working - but staff provided a half bottle of wine to make up for this - and the large blinds and bathroom ceiling could use dusting/cobweb removal.) All else was spotless and well maintained. I would return again and again and highly recommend The Madrones."
Anderson Valley Inn
8/10 Good
"The room was very comfortable. There is no staff to help with any questions. The fire-pit had been turned into a table. A fire would have been nice."
Fort Ross Lodge

"The bed was really comfortable!"
The Ranch at Lake Sonoma
10/10 Excellent
"The hosts were lovely, and the beds super comfy and clean and beautifully presented. It’s not a “glamping” facility however, it’s really camping there’s one single use bathroom and two showers for the whole campsite plus some porta potties, and you should bring food with you to cook at the camp fire as it’s a 15 min drive to nearest shops. We booked last minute, so totally our fault we weren’t prepared/had different expectations. It’s really a camping experience with some glamping tents, not a full glamping experience, which is totally fine, just unexpected! The tents are close to each other, so very family friendly but not much privacy and they give you earplugs. Also the phone number on the website was not working, but when we did find the hosts they were lovely and helped with everything and gave us contact details."
The Sea Ranch Lodge
8/10 Good
"The property was fantastic. The ocean view from our room was amazing. We enjoyed the hiking trails and the spectacular views! The food was good and the bar staff were friendly. A larger bar would be nice , but the ability to order a drink and take or to a different location nearby the bar with spectacular views makes up for a smaller bar."
