"The double room I booked was not available upon check in. They gave me 2 queen rooms instead for the night. The next day we were to move to the double room, and had to wait an additional hour until it was ready. The staff made the entire situation more confusing than it needed to be, and was very disappointed with my stay."

"Initial impression was lovely, well situated hotel. However upon entering the room, there were 2 fridges, one of which was broken and just left in middle of beds; the desk chair was also broken; very few towels for 2 people and closet mirror was filthy with finger prints all over as well as loads of surface dust. "The staff at this hotel were fantastic! They were friendly, helpful and had great suggestions when I asked for their opinions. They also told us about their car service which we used a few different times… highly recommend this! Especially when going to the airport. I would stay here again and I highly recommend it to others. I also appreciated the security of the main door in the evening."

"Expedia claims to include all fees and taxes, but we were charged $20 daily "facility fee," which amounted to another $100. This is Expedia's issue. We were happily surprised that our king bed room included a small refrigerator. Apparently this building houses rent-controlled tenants, and this fact created a situation in which a tenant asked us to move rooms during our stay."

"Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet any of my expectations. I paid $989 for 3 nights. Other than the convenience of everything being close, such as the subway, Times Square, Broadway Theater, Central Park, etc. I experienced harassment by a guy who just walked into the lobby and begged for money again and again. Unfortunately, another one of the problems with this location is that there are no parking lots associated with the hotel so the nearest parking lot is down the block ($67 a night,...

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Lucerne and had a lovely breakfast at Nice Matin. It was convenient to the subway line and to everything we wanted to see during our stay in New York."

"Overall, I had a good stay. I understand the building is old, but there were things that are basic maintenance that needed to be done. Example, paint chipping off the doors and moulding, the ceiling above the shower was bubbling from the moisture, and there's no fan/vent in the bathroom. The heater did not work, it was blowing out cold air and actually dropped the temperature of the room, thankfully we had warmer weather. It was overall very clean, and the sheets and towels were fresh and clean....
