Summer camp, not luxury stay.

The booking was not suitable for a family with older guests. It may be a nice mediocre stay for small families, but not a relaxing or luxurious experience. It is kind of like a large summer camp.

Not my 1st time at Pinelake and will return again, however the times of the shop, pools, restaurant and lake water activites should be adjusted to at least an hour or later during peak and summer times.

Pine Lake Marina

Not great value for the cost. Greatest part of the stay was the activities. Lacking in luxury and comfort and alot to be desired.

The staff are very friendly and, altough they forgot to clean the unit twice, they went out of their way to come and clean later on. I think the property did see better days, but everything is clean and neat in the resort. It is a 3 star property as advertise. There are a lot of activities for kids and adults alike, from boat paddeling, speedboats, riverboats, tenpin bowling, mini golf, table tennis, snooker, darts, tennis, trampolines, heated pool. There is a mini shop on the premise and a spa, I cannot comment on the spa as we did not make use of it. The surroundings are beautiful.

Our first time at PLM

There is no daily cleaning of the unit so for a week stay that wasn't great at all. Top up your own toilet paper. They supply linen but no bath towels. Apparently bath towels are more of a covid risk than linen even though it all gets washed so between beach and bath towels half the boot was full. There are enough activities to keep busy but for the amount of people there aren't enough of each and they don't take bookings so you end up walking back and forth constantly. Eg there are 3 tennis courts and wasted so much time waiting for a court everytime because there is no booked time slot so it's first come first serve. There is no wifi. They say Huawei and apple can't connect but we had Samsung and Amazon devices and couldn't connect. Hub needed to work so he had to tether from his phone for a week which was costly. The warm pool is the smallest pool. Too small for the amount of people. No halaal food despite seeing loads of Muslims so we needed to drive out a lot. They rent out electric scooters and bikes but the guests, often kids, drive those things faster than the cars so we had to constantly be on high alert watching that we or our kids don't get in the way. On a positive note, the place feels safe and there are no rowdy crowds.

Good location

On the whole we had a good stay at Pine Lake. the important thing is to get the correct unit for your family. Location does not really make a difference although being closer to the Restaurant area/ shops/ kids pool does have its perks. Below are some other considerations. 1) I did not think the resort was very child friend (7 years and younger). there are outdoor activities and a pool for small kids and water sports but other than that the pool is the big attraction. There is an indoor kids play area but this is more suited for older kids 2) The unit we were in had a fixed shower with a window on the bath tub which made it difficult if you had small kids to bath 3) The hot pool became full at times and the kids complained about the salt/ chemical levels at some point. other than that, its the place to be when things got chilly 4) Cleaning of units needs to be scheduled and there is a charge for it 5) For some reason, Hauwei phones does not connect to the wi-fi, and often need to re-join regularly. the signal is often lost depending where you are in the resort 6) I think that the resort would do really well if they had a kids club Resort is ideally located if you wanted to go explore other areas e.g. George or Oudtshoorn

Summer holiday in Pine Lake Marina

Our stay was great for the kids. Facilities were good and lots to do for the kids. I think if you staying a week, they should change your towels mid week. I also thing the sleeper couch needs upgrading to a camper stretcher type bed so u don't feel like you sleeping on the floor. The bathroom needs upgrading in the Giraffes. the unit looks the same as it did 18 years ago when i went on my honeymoon. Otherwise the stay the good.

Perfect to relax

I have been going to Pine Lake for many years and it is such a tranquil and relaxing place. It is central if you want to quickly go to Knysna, Wilderness or George. Sedgefield has access to a couple of beaches even though one cannot view it from where you stay. You just have to explore this town and you will be hit with lovely beaches.

Pine Lake Marina does not go the extra mile.

We made a reservation expecting beds for 3 adults. Instead my adult son had to sleep on a mattress on top of a sleeper couch meant for kids. In addition, they were only prepared to upgrade us at a cost despite the fact that they messed up the booking. All they gave was a R200 breakfast voucher for the family.It was clear that they were more concerned about the bottom line. This was our first visit and it will definitely be our last visit to Pine Lake.Marina.

Best stay at Pine Lake Marina

The stay at Pine Lake Marina was splendid indeed. My partner and I had so much fun with all the activities there and the amazing pools and Jacuzzis. We enjoyed the resort, it's staff and the cute monkeys so much. We are definitely coming back soon... Might even consider it as my wedding venue💒❤️

Great couple of days spent with family. Service at Piazza was great and accommodating. The children enjoyed all fun activities on offer. We will be back to enjoy the beautiful establishment.
