Great hostel! Easy 20 minute walk from Sendai station. Close to 7/11 and restaurants. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Kitchen and dining area were well equipped with cooking and eating utensils. Very clean toilets, showers, and dorms. Good vibes all around. 100% would stay again.
I'm a little confused by some of the reviews for this place. I saw a lot of people boasting about how nice the staff were. But when I got there all I got were annoyed looks. Pretty sure staff members only said 10 words to me.
That said if you don't mind getting "Why are you here" and "Leave" looks. And just want to be left alone. This place is okay. Though another complaint is staff members love to stomp. 11pm at I heard staff stomping their way up/down stairs.
The lively nature and friendly staff made me love my stay in Kiko's. Each room has a unique feature wall painted by an artist. The mattresses were a bit thin making sleeping at certain angles uncomfortable but the bedding and rooms felt very clean. The 2 communal areas gave plenty of room and made it very easy to meet new people. It was also nice having a kitchen available with stove tops
