"This place is better than a back alley, but not by much.
Weekend before Memorial day boiler still on and the room was 85 degrees had to open the door windows turn on the air it did not cool down until the next night.
Cockroaches, they do not change the sheets inbetween guest, only thing the guy cleaning the room came out with are the towels, but i guess pretending to wash them works. Do not even ask about the bathroom, you are banging your knees to sit down and i think the shower was last used by the swamp thing. Do not take off your shoes anywhere."
"This is the only hotel I stay in when visiting Dunkirk. The property is old, but kept clean and maintained well. The rooms are large and views of Lake Erie are a nice amenity. There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms which is not on par with other hotels in the area. For me this is the major downside. I do like the staff who are always very kind and helpful."
"Hideaway Bay is truly amazing! So peaceful and relaxing. A perfect weekend getaway!
We stayed durning Mother’s Day weekend so it was much slower then I assume it would be in the summer. The staff was incredibly attentive- always make sure we had what we needed. If you pass them outside, they are always checking in with you, which i really appreciated it. The grounds were beautifully maintained. The homes were clean and stocked with what you need. Beds were relaxing. Sleeping upstairs is amazing because you can wake up to the view of the lake (if staying in the front villas). Drift had amazing food and wonderful service. The hot tub and sauna was a nice touch. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I would 100% stay here again and will definitely be back in the summer to see this place running at full capacity.
The only negative thing i can say (and it’s not their fault) is there is a train right behind the property which can be noisy as it does run all day but its about a min of noise and then right back to peace. Wasn’t even a bother but worth noting."
