The area of #Gion in #Kyoto is the traditional, cultural pulse of #Japan (also home to many #cherryblossoms in the #spring). I took this photo around 8:20 AM in early April when there were few people on the streets (an uncommon scene during peak cherry blossom season in Kyoto.) I noticed that in Japan, folks don't start their day until later (after 8:30 AM), unlike in Europe where if you're not at an attraction prior to 5AM, there are going to be a billion other people in your shot. We took a moment to bask in the peacefulness of the moment. #Lifeatexpedia #Travel #Culture
This time of the year, with the leaves changing colour, really makes for fantastic views in Kyoto. The Gion district is perfect for this as it's an oasis of tradition and quiet in a bustling city!
