"Great place to stay. Large spacious room and comfy large bed. Sana and his family are very welcoming and helpful. Great breakfast plus we were treated to a Sri Lankan breakfast too. Sana took us on a morning excursion where we were treated to all the local wildlife, which was such an unexpected surprise. Would highly recommend stating here. Thankyou all."

"We had a wonderful stay at The Hungry Lion! The rooms are very clean and spacious, as are the common areas. The location is perfect: only a short walk to all of the restaurants and shops. Breakfast was incredible, by far the best we’ve had on our trip. The staff were very accommodating and cheerful. We will definitely be back. 10 out of 10 !"

"The chef was outstanding, Nalin had 28 years experience and presented us with meals of a high standard with great service. They were in the process of renovating but this did not deminish our experience. All the staff were friendly and the meals were inexpensive. "The staff are amazing! So friendly, hardworking and kind. The food was delicious and the coffee choice (cappuccino, americano, latte, expresso) were wonderful to have.
Perfect location to walk to Lion Rock and Pidurangula. Just a short TukTuk ride to Dambulla. It was so nice to be able to go for a swim and sit around the pool after hiking. We would love to be able to go back some day!

"Staff was excellent. She made special vegetarian food for me. Lot of greenery.
Room is ok not that great. Too many insects because of bushes and trees all around the property. Gieco running on the floor of the room.
Had to go to the front desk every time for service. No phone/TV in the room. No light switch above the bed. Had to go to the front door to turn off lights and walk in the dark to the bed. Not convenient at all."

"We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are quiet, located in a lovely garden setting set back from the main road. Our hosts were very helpful, arranging transportation to the World Heritage Sites and a local dance presentation. Hosts will prepare breakfasts and dinners. The dinners we ate there were excellent.
