"We are here for the 12th time and it's amazing as usual: food is tasty and varied, a lot of fruit and vegetables, different kinds of meat , fish and seafood. Stuff is always friendly and helpful, rooms are clean. Sandy beach, rich coral reef and not windy location."

" Merveilleuses vacances au bord de la mer Rouge Nous avons passé, mon épouse et moi, un séjour exceptionnel dans cet hôtel. Tout était parfait du début à la fin. L’établissement est magnifique, les chambres sont spacieuses, très confortables et disposent même d’une petite cour intérieure bien protégée, idéale lorsqu’il y a du vent. Le personnel est remarquable : toujours souriant, attentionné et soucieux du bien-être des clients. Un grand merci à Monsieur Pappu pour la qualité du restaurant : la cuisine est excellente et nous avons dîné avec plaisir chaque soir. La plage est très grande, avec des espaces bien aménagés et suffisamment espacés pour se sentir à l’aise. "The first room we checked into was dirty and we had to change rooms. The second room was ok but we found that the heater didn’t work. We reported it, a maintenance man came up but it was never fixed. The property is nice once you get beyond the gates (that looked like you were entering a war zone). The staff was friendly but our experience was just ok."

"Far From a Four-Star Experience Let me be clear: this is not a four-star hotel. Our stay was a cascade of problems that management consistently failed to properly resolve. It began with significant cleanliness issues in our first room. Despite assurances, the problem was never fixed, leading to a room change. This "upgraded" room, however, introduced a host of new plumbing disasters. The sink faucet's pressure was so intense it soaked our clothes and the counter, while the shower head was aimed at the back wall, flooding the floor due to a poorly-sealed glass partition. After I took time out of my vacation to meet with the manager and explain the situation, I was promised everything would be fixed. We returned later to the smell of fresh caulk and a re-angled (but still not adjustable) shower head. The original leak was gone, but a new one had appeared. The shower's improper drainage pitch sent a stream of water along the glass ledge and right back onto the floor. Our only solution was to build a dam with our clean towels every time we showered. The sink was never fixed by the hotel. I finally had to play DIY plumber, swapping the faucet tap with one from the shower to get a usable water flow. It's unbelievable that I had to fix it myself. We tried to make the best of our trip, but the constant frustration and unresolved issues made it clear: this is NOT a four-star hotel. Needed this vacation to decompress. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!!!!"

"Title: Appalling Experience – Unsafe, Unhygienic & Completely Misleading My stay at Kaktus Somabay was a disaster from the moment I checked in on November 27, 2025. The first room was covered in thick dust, to the extent that my new iPad cover became damaged within minutes. When I reported it, management responded with denial and disrespect, insisting it “did not happen here.” Their attitude alone was unacceptable. After being moved three times, every room had the same unhygienic dust problem. I developed allergic reactions, including itchy eyes and a sore throat. One of the rooms had a cracked mirror, which staff openly admitted they were already aware of—a major safety hazard that they simply ignored. Two bathroom doors didn’t even close. My entire first day was wasted dealing with room changes and staff negligence. Then the power cut three times, including once while I was showering, leaving me in total darkness and nearly causing an accident. Add to that a persistent smell of gas and paint, which made staying in the room unbearable. To make matters worse, the hotel is blatantly misrepresented online. The so-called “superior suite” was merely two connected rooms, the beach required a 10-minute drive, and the advertised pools and amenities were nothing like the photos—tiny, unusable, nonexistent in some cases. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The property is unsafe, unclean, and falsely advertised.Strongly advise travellers to avoid this hotel"
