"The facility is new. The staff was unprepared. The room was wrong (1 bed vs 2)! So someone had to sleep on sofa bed. The staff just said 'Oh well this is all we have left tonight.' The only thing good about this place is the location to the airport. if that is all you are looking for then this place probably works but you will NOT have any other good feelings from staying in this location and we were not the only group that you could hear complaining in the lobby!"

"I stayed here the night before I caught the ferry and it was fantastically comfortable. The only issue that I had, and it was very minor, was finding the check-in instructions, but it was no trouble - another guest showed me the way. Well, there was a second issue. The driveway is very steep with some very sharp turns. I had everything I owned in the back of my pickup, so with the added weight, it was problematic for me to maneuver the driveway. "The lodge was wonderful and we had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room. We also appreciated the laundry facilities. However, when we first arrived, there two very unfriendly (bordering on rude) employees at the front desk. The person on the desk later was much better."

"Strongly recommend Eagle Bay Inn! Our room was very clean and comfortable. The Staff was AWESOME! They went out of their way to do whatever they could to ensure our stay was enjoyable! Enjoyed meeting Vickie! She was wonderful! They made excellent recommendations for dining, shopping and excursions. The Breakfast bar was neat, clean and well stocked. Would DEFINITELY stay here again!"

"A lovely property, but be aware there is no elevator. There are staff to lug your stuff up the stairs or store them for you. You will have to climb the stairs to your room. There are 3 floors. The ocean view room kept us entertained people watching cruise ship passengers on the docks. This was built in 1927 and that character has been maintained."

"The main issue we had as there is no sign on the building! There is no way to identify you have arrived at the location. You have to get the room key from a store near the building ( we had to ask people in the street and eventually another store owner took us to the right store to get the key) very unprofessional and frustrating. "We enjoyed our stay at the Alaskan Hotel very much! We knew it was an old hotel, built in 1913, but we enjoy unique, historic properties. That is not everyone’s preference. We had the “shared bathroom” experience because we booked last minute due to airline cancellations. That was fine with us - the bathrooms and showers were very clean - but again, that would not be everyone’s cup of tea. "The restaurant was wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff amazing. There was a free shuttle that would take you and pick you up."

"TV's didn't work. changed batteries twice and remote once. thermostat in room all taped up. Staff at front desk was very helpful. brought a blanket and tried to fix remote. fixed the heater. very thin beadspread and no blanket. lots of drug deals going on outside the main lobby. i did not feel secure there."

"5 minutes from the Juneau Airport, but you must call a taxi company to take you there, no shuttle. Walking is theoretically possible but only for the ambitious. Phone communication with hotel front desk was with non-native speaker and hard to understand. On-site front desk staff at arrival was non-existent but to be fair was elsewhere doing maintenance, so I had to search for them. The Hotel Desk is only open from 7am-11pm, this is not specified on the listing - problem if you have a late flight...
