"This was my first hostel experience and it was not that bad. It was conveniently located downtown close to everything. However the downside was, it is on a very noisy street and my room faced that street. They do have a bunch of earplugs at the front desk. It was a Saturday night, so very noisy until the wee hours. Also, I was in a room with others and at 1:30/2am a couple guys came in and turned on the overhead lights for a bit. I did not find it too hot as some people had posted however, I did not use the blanket, The room and bed and washroom were clean and did not seem very old but the building it self is pretty old. The stairs and floors were a bit sketchy. Carpet was old, some areas the floor felt warped and uneven and there was a bit of an odor. I felt there could have been a nicer mirror in the washrooms and it could have been bigger or lower. I had to be on my tip toes to use it. The free breakfast was ok. I have allegies to wheat and citrus, so was limited to only the oatmeal, hard boiled eggs and cucumbers. Yogurt would have been nice to have with my oatmeal. Check in and out was easy and quick and the staff was nice and friendly."

"This is a 3-star hotel, not 4 or more, as some may rate it. The rooms are adequate, but the facilities need to be updated. The location is terrific, and most staff were great. The fitness center is lacking, and there was an issue with the hot tub that a staff member blamed on us users for blocking a jet (seriously, fix the tub!)."
