"We’ve come here every year, it’s family friendly, has good connections to public transport and is in a green, lovely location.
Disappointing service this time, the room did not get cleaned, apparently you have to book room cleaning?! Even with booking the room wasn’t cleaned, no clean towels or soap refill, sink blocked, dirty floors… for a Radison Blue and four stars very poor services. I complained daily, at the end I had enough. Not coming back here, it’s ruined our holiday having to moan about service that should be in place without complaints.
I raised it today at check out again, yes, I got an apology but it’s just not good. We will not return!"
"Arriving by train had to ask how to get to hotel as having NO working handy coming from oversees . The access to hotel very steep and a challenge using a walker (rollator), however it was very nice of the receptionist/manager backing down a car to manage the steep hill, although there are 45 steps to use. Later on enjoying a beer/wine in the very quiet lobby using the rocking chairs. To explore Meissen, we used a taxi from hotel - called by staff - to the Dom and from there a sight seeing bus back. Spent time in a tremendous restaurant at Dom Platz - super friendly, helpful waitress. It was unfortunate that the Dom has been closed, further more several restaurants in town as well.
Overall, Meissen has been a nice experience and if the weather would have been on our side, it would have been even nicer. Thank's, had a short but relaxing stay at the Hotel Burgblick Meissen. - Renate and Linda from Canada"
"Internet was very slow. Staff, not great. Nobody works during the night. Freezing cold rooms and when trying to put the heaters on, they don't work. You have to sleep with scarves and jackets on. Breakfast is terrible. Bathroom door is made of glass and the bathroom has a window towards the living room, with the blinds on the living room side of the glass. Personnel always makes sure that you know when they are closing or leaving. Pillows are terrible also, and bedding had a humid feel."
"Lydia, the receptionist, welcomed us on the day of arrival and gave a clear and easy-to-understand introduction to the hotel. She responded promptly to the questions I had during the stay. Excellent and friendly service throughout."
"It's a nice traditional place, very well located in the old town. Very clean but not very modern, and with a shower-in-tub arrangement that was difficult to deal with and felt quite dangerous. Absolutely lovely breakfast room and excellent breakfast. Very good food and huge portions in the hotel restaurant. No English TV at all, not even CNN or BBC, so that was a disappointment, "
"Room cold
Told to move car to back lot as it was in an electric one even though there are four spaces. No spot available at back so parked beside building. Next morning i see a non electric car parked in the space I was in. Told receptionist this at check out - she offered to reimburse €15 cost but did not know how to refund me. She spoke with her colleague who decided not to offer a refund as I had parked inside. I stated that there was no reason for me to move from my initial parking space and as such was being asked to pay for a parking space I had not got. He didn’t care. Avoid the hotel - hidden charges to park and use facilities - there was no mention of discount for hotels.com gold members either. "
