"We had an evening meal in the Coppa restaurant which was a lovely restaurant with great views but the food was underwhelming and quite expensive. Chicken and just red cabbage and the chicken was greasy. We would not eat here again."

"Lovely pub and inn at the heart of the village. The room was lovely, very comfortable! At the end of each day I would arrive back at my room to find a homemade cookie waiting for me; it's these little touches that really demonstrate attention to detail and the thoughtfulness of the staff. It's a Dog friendly hotel, and there was a very cute friendly dog who greeted me as I went to check in. Would highly recommend, and will certainly stay again! Useful hotel for those walking or cycling through the Chiltern Hills, located relatively close to the Ridgeway Route. "

"My visit was an absolute pleasure to be there, host was awesome. There was a some issue with booking but host was quickly sorted out. Property was immaculately cleaned, maintained and beautifully picturesque village. Food was awesome too. Huge thank you for an awesome experience. I will recommend anyone to visit and enjoy this hidden gem in a small village. Easy access to motor way. Thank you"

"I have to admit my heart sank when I first arrived hereon seeing the somewhat ( in my opinion) scruffy appearance which seemed not to resemble the photograph which had appeared on the website. The building looked as if it could do with a coat of paint and what had been described as a garden hardly bore any resemblance to that description.A hosepipe and other clutter was to one side of the end room. Again there were a considerable number of pretty worn picnic tables full of customers enjoying drinks and noisy children . We were shown to our room which was immaculate - and quiet! The only problem was the toilet cistern which took between 10 - 15 minutes to refill.We did mention it a couple of times to the staff but without a successful conclusion ! We arrived on a Friday evening where a local ‘ musician’ strums on a guitar! The food was excellent as were the staff particularly the young man who served us. We ate the steak and kidney suet pie which was delicious- my husband ate it the following night as it was so good! Breakfast was substantial and the service very prompt. Despite my first negative comments we did enjoy our stay here and would probably stay again should we be in this part of the world."

"Stayed one night, room only. This is a great option if staying in the area. Very pleasant reception area and helpful staff. Our room on first floor was very lcomfortable and large enough for a sofa and sitting area with TV. Spacious bathroom. The only criticism is that the fittings are a bit outdated but worked fine. The pool is nice although the jacuzzi was out of action. We didn’t use it but there is a large fitness area with all the usual equipment. Plenty of free parking out front. Excellent value with Hotels.com. "

"We treated ourselves to a night here and got a really good room rate including an excellent breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean and well equipped. All the staff were super helpful. We also had dinner on arrival and the fixed menu deal was brilliant value. Would definitely come here again."

"A lovely boutique hotel right on the river Thames. Our room was lovely and cosy ; comfy bed and nice bath ( though there was a leak which we reported) ; It was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was ok - no fruit or GF cereal for a reason that did not stack up ; No GF sausages which is just lazy chefing ( I say this on many reviews) so a GF breakfast reduces to bacon egg and beans - not a problem but with a bit of thought , could be so much better at £15. Does not detract from the fact we would stay again"
