"The good- the staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is top notch, with amazing views and plenty of comfortable beach loungers. We snorkeled at the beach and there was coral and fish very close by. We had fun during the day at the beach lounging, walking, swimming, and reading. The bad- upon arrival, they told us we needed to pay “the other half” of what we owed. We had already paid in full on hotels.com, though apparently this was a mistake, that was supposed to only be half the price....

"If you're visiting from far away like the United States or on a special trip, I'd recommend staying at the Blue Apple Beach Club instead. You don't want to cheap on the little stuff on a vacation. The room was advertisied as having Wifi, and it did not have Wifi or cell signal. Youll have to walk by the pool area to make calls. Also the bathroom has black mold around the sink, and the shower water temperature doesn't get warm or hot. Those basic comforts make a big difference on a vacation, so I...

"The staff was super kind and helpful, they have a transfer service from and to the city by boat between 10am and 5pm. The cabin I chose had AC and the bar has quite a nice menu for food and drinks. Basic amenities but just fine, the guys will help you in whatever way they can and you won't be pestered so much by vendors. On the other hand, they should think about installing some catch-fly lights cause insects can be really annoying, especially when eating."

"The Hilton Cartagena in El Laguito is a magnificent hotel. Our stay was perfect, from location, to staff, breakfast buffet, cleanliness, hotel room, pools, beach, just everything. The beds are the most comfortable I've slept in. The pillows, mattresses and pillows are so plushy and inviting. All employees go above and beyond to make guests feel at home. Another top thing is the silence at night. It's soundproof and we get to sleep in peace. My husband and I can't wait to go back! "

"Room was clean and quiet and the staff are friendly and try to be helpful. Treadmill did not work in the rather small and limited gym, although it was nice and cool. Toaster does not work properly in the breakfast area. The single most annoying thing for us was that the bedsheets are not fitted. They keep sliding out from under you during the night, which was unexpected for a luxury hotel. Location is terrific and the building itself is beautiful. Furniture looks nice but isnt very functional. Our dresser drawers kept falling out if you pull too far. Overall, we couldnt help byt enjoy the historic district and really only slept in the hotel, which is somewhat 'faux' luxury rather than true luxury."

"The staff are very helpful and welcoming. They helped to make my partners birthday extra special. The breakfast buffet was great, fresh fruit, omelette station, good selection. I really like the location it was a close drive to everything. The room was clean and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious. The rooftop pool was nice and the view was amazing. We had a wonderful time and I would love to stay here again the next time I am in the city. High recommendation to stay here "
