" A grand pile in it's day, undergoing a gradual and much needed, refurbishment. The location is it's biggest pull, set quite high above town, with simply stunning views from frontal elevations.The welcome and general ambience proved pleasant and the public areas comfortable, tasteful and pleasing. Our (rear) bedroom was a relatively easy climb up the wide staircase to the first floor. It proved just adequate. Furnishings were functional, but a tad utility and tired, as were fixtures / fittings...

"David and Jo are the perfect combination of warmth and competence and their place offers comfort, privacy, delicious meals, and great attention to details. Highland Cottage is well-situated above the Tobermory harbor, an easy walk down to the shops and pubs. We loved both the complete breakfasts and the gourmet three-course dinner Jo prepared. The upstairs sitting room is a comfy, quiet place to read and check e-mail. We are very happy that our Scotland vacation included a stay here."
