"I rarely write reviews, but future guests considering this hotel in Ocho Rios should know what we experienced. We stayed here during a Christmas holiday vacation, but it became one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. During our stay, the hotel shut off the water to the entire property — not low pressure, but no running water at all. That meant no showers, no sinks. What made this even worse was that the hotel never warned guests this would happen. There was no notice or communication. At the same time, the hotel WiFi did not work for our entire stay. For international travelers staying in Ocho Rios, reliable internet is a basic necessity, yet this hotel could not provide it. When we tried to speak with hotel staff and cancel the remainder of our stay due to the lack of basic utilities, no attendants were available to help us. The security on property could only help to their extent. Office staff were completely unavailable when we needed assistance over the holidays. Afterwards, the hotel blamed a recent hurricane. However, we stayed at other hotels in Jamaica during the same trip where both water and WiFi worked perfectly. At no point before or during check-in did this hotel communicate that these services would not be available. The hotel has also refused to offer compensation or respond to calls about a refund. No water. No WiFi. No communication. Extremely disappointing for a hotel stay during the holiday when guests are paying premium rates."

"Parking felt safe because there was a gate. There was a gateman when we checked in. After that however, we had to open the gate ourselves. Our room smelled. The bathroom stall was clean."

"Listen guys, please, whatever you do, don’t book this property! It’s not clean nor safe! This place is a total disaster! They hype up the reviews online for tourists. My husband and I left within hours of booking this place.. neither one of us felt comfortable being there. Let’s not talk about the stairs you have to climb!! OMG, why is this place still up and running!! It’s in desperate need of renovation. "

"Starting from the receptionist…very nice & informative! The staff overall were super friendly & helpful. Every single day, didn’t matter the time, they were there to help. The rooms were clean & filled with utilities, from plates to cups to water bottles and milk. If you needed extra, they assisted & provided you with anything and everything. Even without asking you, they made sure you had things! Just would like to shout out our nanny Kerina that was assigned to us. She was always with a smile & very helpful. Even though our kids were so glued on to us, Kerina was around to help out. I would also like to shout out the manager (I forgot her name), she was so kind to take me to the supermarket to buy my baby formula. Overall, I had a great time and experience at the FDR. Would highly recommend if you have kids. "

"Loved the room. We booked the cheapest room. The bed was the best sleep we ever had. The balcony was the high light of our stay. The food and hospitality was great. It rained 2 of our 3 days and had a great time. We did no excursion no water sports and still had a great vacation. The only reason we did 4 stars because we wish they had a buffet style diner and maybe be able to get a pizza after 6pm. We've been on multiple cruises and we enjoyed the resort more. Definetly romantic feel for my husband and I to connect."
