"Looks to me like a project that lost momentum. Rooms were big but very little finese added. Compared to other Valletta properties there are lots missing - tea/coffee making, room information, phone information, snacks in room etc etc. For the price it seems unfinished and lacking finese. That said, the breakfast was good though with a single coffee machine it was far from trouble-free."

"The rooms were very humid, no towel could ever dry. Though the room looked clean, I found a cockroach. (I guess it is due to humidity.) The first day there was no soap by the sink, but the second day the cleaning lady came and filled it. When I showered, there was water leaking from the shower to the floor. Fortunately, next day the cleaning lady wiped it off. There was no window. I did not realize that when I booked. I also did not realize that this was more of an AirBnB rather than hotel. Expedia should mention it. Towels and bed sheets were fine. Bed was fine."

"Établissement très bien situé, directement dans La Valette. On a pu y déposer nos bagages avant le check-in (et après le checkout) afin de pouvoir nous promener sans encombre. Le personnel est très gentil mais il n’y a qu’un réceptionniste et il doit débarrer la porte quand on arrive la première fois, alors s’il est absent, on est mal pris… Ça ne nous est pas arrivé personnellement, mais un couple est arrivé plus tard et, heureusement, on a pu leur ouvrir la porte sinon ils auraient attendu 10 minutes avec leurs valises devant l’hôtel sans pouvoir entrer. Sinon, je voyageais avec ma fille et on a été surprises de voir que la douche et la toilette ne sont séparées de la chambre que par une paroi givrée qui ne va pas jusqu’au plafond… pas génial pour l’intimité."

"When I checked in the machine printed my room key that didn’t work. The phone to call for assistance wouldn’t connect so I had to use my phone that cost me to use. They buzzed me into our room and luckily there was another key card in the room that worked. Never offered any reimbursement for the call either over the phone or in person when we checked out."

"· May 2026 Domus Zamittello is a jewel of a hotel, ideally situated just inside Valletta’s pedestrian quarter, and only a short walk from the Upper Barrakka Gardens and St. John’s Co-Cathedral. The property possesses an elegantly understated decor, while the staff members are uniformly friendly, attentive, and impeccably professional without ever feeling intrusive. Central location meant the rooms overlooking the pedestrian road could be a bit noisy. Excellent staff gave positive assistance with itineraries and generally couldn’t have been more helpful. We found a marvellous restaurant (Giannini) 10 minutes walk from the hotel which was quiet, great food and view - we went back 4 nights. Malta itself was a great venue but the advent of cruise ships disgorging hundreds for the day makes these places more difficult to enjoy. We experienced the same on Madeira.
