"We had a very poor experience at this hotel. Just a one night stay to visit my kids who live in Richmond. The first room had a mechanical issue with an aircon unit in the bedroom that's not pushing good air but making a terrible compressor sound... Couldn't be turned off and so chang d rooms at 4am. The second room, as we entered the room after 4am, had both aircon unit running full blast, very cold. Attempted to adjust thermostat but aircon unit in bedroom would not shut down. Managed to unplug it. Finally, a quiet room that's cold but acceptable. Would not stay here ever again."

"For the price we paid, it was as expected - very rough. The showerhead was fixed with a plastic bag, and the hole in the wall next to the wall AC unit was plugged by stuffing plastic bags into it, too. The elevator was broken, one of the pillows and one of the bed covers had blood stains, the shower curtain liner was missing, and there was no hair dryer. Carpets, walls and popcorn ceiling were smelly - I suspect it was the original 1970s. I saw a large rat running across the parking. The only relatively nice part of the property was at the reception - we even had our hopes up when checking in!!! It was clean and smelled nice, dated but decent. When we got to our room, though, it was a different matter."

The hotel exudes refinement without feeling stuffy, and it’s easy to see why The Jefferson is a beloved institution in the city. Food and Breakfast:** The breakfast was superb, with a distinct Southern Virginia touch that felt comforting and refined at the same time. I enjoyed Virginia ham for breakfast, and it truly took me to heaven—rich, savory, and perfectly prepared. The menu felt both fresh and thoughtfully curated. Staff and Service:** The staff were outstanding, delivering Southern charm with professionalism and warmth. Each interaction felt personalized, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Rooms and Cleanliness:** The room was immaculate, with classic decor that maintained the hotel’s historic charm while offering modern comforts. Parking and Accessibility:** Parking was easy and felt secure, which made the entire stay stress-free. The hotel’s central location also made it easy to explore nearby"

"Hotel was clean and looked nice. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast choices are good. Parking is easy. It is located on a busy road so be prepared for some traffic noise. "

"We liked everything about The Boulevard Inn. The location was excellent. We enjoyed being able to walk to Cary Town as well as several outstanding museums in the area. The Inn is located in the neighborhood of many beautiful older homes which we found to be very interesting as we explored this part of historic Richmond. The staff at the Inn were extremely friendly and helpful providing information about the neighborhood. The breakfast was wonderful as well as unique each day. You could tell that everything that was served was fresh as well as delicious. Our room was not only clean and spacious with every convenience available for our comfort. It was also charming and welcoming. We definitely recommend The Boulevard Inn for your next stay in Richmond, VA"

"The hotel and staff were great! Particularly liked Landi and Molly. The mini fridge in the room wasn't plugged in when we got there, but that is seriously the only thing that was slightly off. Great stay."
