"Property under major renovation and not once was it mentioned on line or anywhere else. Literally walked through power tools, tarps, construction workers to get to the elevator. Our room appeared to have been renovated already but smelled like bug spray. The refrigerator was warm. The coffee maker didn't have an accessible outlet to plug it in and the people who were sent to assist in resolving any of this did not speak English and were trying to translate on an app. We could still not...

"Room was modestly clean at best. My room was not refreshed during my stay. Beds were not made and used towels I placed on the floor remained on the floor. Hotel has outdoor room access. I was unable to sleep due to several other hotel patrons outside my room talking loudly and carrying on between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM. I was told by staff it was my responsibility to call police to control the situation. I will not stay at another Econo Lodge based on my experience."

"This is a spectacular little boutique hotel in downtown Norfolk. The location is great for walking to the theater and the water district. There’s dining everywhere. The biggest bonus is the glass art museum that’s included with your stay."

I booked two rooms, we had to call down to reception to have the rooms cleaned two days in a row. The entire hotel needed to be overhauled and renovated, it appeared very run down. "Military Circle Econo Lodge violated a number of norms, including a KIOSK with bot-like person on the other end of a ZOOM-like connection (as opposed to an actual person on site to check us in, and solve problems); no soap; faucet not attached to the sink; dirty sheets in our first room; BLOODY SHEETS in purported replacement room (we have photos to prove it); smoke oozing from the walls (in both rooms, which conspicuously contained ashtrays, despite a NO SMOKING booking); and NO HUMAN STAFF ON...

"The staff upon arrival was not very friendly. When I asked if you all had continental breakfast, his reply was “yeah!” The rooms (3 in total) were nasty!! Hair in the tub. The loveseats were dirty. There was a massive amount of dust in that room (I am allergic to dust). Something spilled beside the refrigerator in Room 309. I have pictures to validate my statement. I will never visit this hotel again. Side note: my husband and I own a cleaning business and this was unacceptable."
