"A 5 minutes walk from the Shambles makes this hotel a quiet haven away from the usual York crowds. The downside is it's a little further to walk from the railway station (20 minutes) but you can use the bus to make that journey The staff are super friendly and helpful. The common areas are clean and tidy. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean with a great view of the Minister. I loved the automatic light under the bed which saved fumbling for the light switch. "The views from the bar and restaurant were amazing. The only downside was the layout of the room,we were told it was deluxe suite but it was small,television was not facing us, it was on the side and the plughole in the sink was not very good and water did not go down very quickly. Overall the hotel was fab,especially staff were really nice especially in the restaurant. "
