Room: Rooms are a nice design. Beds are comfortable but pillows are cheap and thin. Bathrooms have nice showers.
Location: well-situated for transport and access to the sights. We stayed weekdays and it was fine but I think a weekend night could be very noisy.
Why a 3* rating? I booked on Expedia, entering my children’s ages, and booked a room that said “Sleeps 3”. In the details it said there is no rollaway bed. I assumed (wrongly) that there would be a pull-out bed for the third person, but in fact the expectation is that three would sleep in the two twins pushed together! We check-in after midnight and the receptionist told me that it would sleep 3 with a young child in the bed with parents. But per their info on Expedia they treat children of any age as adults. They should update the booking system to make that room only bookable for two people, or two people and child under 5.
Neither the hotel nor Expedia would do anything for us in this situation and we had to book another room to accommodate one of my teens. They even charged me 60 zloty when I requested a late checkout (which they did not charge to another guest) and staff were not warm at all throughout the stay so I feel there was zero attempt to make amends and rescue the situation.
I’ve stated twice before at the Sheraton Grand where rooms are huge and staff are great. In this instance there were only disadvantages booking at a boutique hotel rather than the chain.
