"The location is definitely the highlight for this resort. Perfectly situated in front of the beach, with a view of the ocean from basically anywhere in the resort. The beach itself is not for swimming as it’s short and rocky, but there are plenty of good options at walking distance. The resort itself is OK, adequate for the price but not exceptional. "Kauai Shores Hotel was perfect! We loved the location and the staff was so friendly! We went for our honeymoon and they even gifted us Hawaiian chocolates! We loved that they offered complimentary yoga daily. It was such a great place to stay. There was also live music daily which was really nice. The only negative was the restaurant on the property wasn’t good at all, but there are a lot of great options nearby. We would definitely go back and stay there again!"

"First room smelled horrible…front desk clerk sprayed the room…still horrible! I continued to complain, finally next day we were moved to another room. The property is well maintained and the remainder of our stay was nice but I felt we should have been offered a different room immediately after we complained about the smell in the first room, not the next day after complaining again."

"The staff was not helpful at all. Very rude. For a place like Hawaii I haven't seen such bad hospitality. Additionally, the pools and all common amenities are unavailable till 9 AM local time. Most travelers come from a different time zone and have young kids who wake up early. Having access to these facilities earlier in the morning would have been super helpful."
