"Awesome but isolated in a remote area"

"The staff at My Hill Eco Lodge made a 1-week work trip a delight. The rooms are large and simply but perfectly outfitted. The restaurant servers could not have been sweeter or more helpful. (Portions are big! Request Rwandan food if you're curious, especially the local amaranth greens.) The only note: It is indeed on a hill, so not for the faint of heart — or heavy packers."

"This property is falsely advertised. The location listed on Expedia is not accurate, and when I arrived, it was nowhere near where it was supposed to be. I was forced to book another hotel last-minute. That alone would have been manageable, but the real issue is that the property provided no way to resolve the situation. They never answered their phone, ignored messages, and even when Expedia tried to reach them directly, there was no response. As a result, I was unable to cancel and lost over...

"The lodge does not actually exist. We arrived at the building, and the outside matched the pictures. However there was no sign and no staff at the place. With the assistance of some helpful neighbours from the street, we learned that it was available for long term rental. A supervisor (who arrived on bike after being called by one of the neighbours) opened the gates so that we could see the “lodge”. It was completely empty and bereft of any furniture). There was no response from the property...

"Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit tollem Ausblick. Empfehlung: Die Organisation der Touren sollte nur eine Person in die Hand nehmen. Da kamen zu viele, die sich mit dem selben Namen vorgestellt haben und behaupteten, sie arbeiten mit Macheoecolodge zusammen. Das war undurchsichtig. -> Da kann aber dort keiner was dafür. Sollte nur vom Management zum Schutz der Gäste beobachtet werden. Ansonsten ist es eine Reise wert und besonders!"
