"My stay at Riu Montego Bay was fun overall. The resort was clean, the staff was absolutely amazing, and I had a great time. The one thing I felt was missing was a stronger Jamaican experience. Many people travel to Jamaica to enjoy the local culture, and I think the resort could do more to showcase it. For example, I would have loved to hear more reggae and Jamaican music throughout the resort. Even at the White Party, most of the music played was American. I also would have liked to see more authentic Jamaican food options. At breakfast, I was hoping for traditional items such as fried dumplings and ackee and saltfish, but the menu mostly featured foods I can easily get at home, such as eggs, bacon, and French toast. I understand that Riu is an international resort that caters to guests from all over the world, but at times it felt a little too Americanized. During my trip, I found myself leaving the resort every day to experience more of the local Jamaican culture, food, and atmosphere. That said, I still enjoyed my stay and appreciate the hard-working staff who helped make the trip enjoyable. With a few more authentic Jamaican touches, I think the experience would be even better."

"Me and my family just got back from a vacation there 5-26 and we had a blast. The pools were awesome the beach was nice and the inflatable obstacle course was great for little and big people . The food was good. I would go back."

"Expansive and grand looking property - lovely pool with waterfalls and very helpful and cheerful staff with towels etc. Multiple beach areas to hang out but wish the beaches were swept in the mornings. Also would be nice if we were told about all of the amenities upon arrival such as beach area with the water sport activities - wasn’t aware until day before departure. An information booklet in the rooms would have been helpful. Unfortunately, the area where my room is located had an awful sewer odor which I’m assuming came from a standing water area outside which definitely should be treated - very unpleasant! Staff selling certain promotional products are way too aggressive and I felt harassed. Other than that I had a great time and the overall experience was good. There are a number of wonderful gift shops with great and useful products. There are several restaurants including three buffets with great breakfast items but I was not impressed with the buffet dinners - needs improvement with taste, quality and presentation. There are several other non buffet restaurants including Japanese, Mexican, Italian, seafood etc. I tried the Japanese that was okay but actually was leaning more to being Chinese. Overall my experience was a 7/10."
