"We had a two night stay for my husbands 50th birthday and had a great time. The staff were all extremely polite and friendly. The hotel was very clean and beautifully presented. Excellent breakfast and fantastic location with plenty of parking. We will definitely be going back."

"Upon entering, the room smelt strongly of mould and damp. There was mould all over the bedroom window and the smell also came from the bathroom. The bathroom door latch didn't work, so the door didn't stay closed. The bathroom extractor fan is caked with dust, the bath looks like it hadn't been cleaned, the panel looks incomplete and the grouting is mouldy in the shower. "Lovely clean and tidy hotel. The rooms look refurbished and were spotless. We had the family room which was bigger than we were expecting. Two separate bedrooms and a bathroom. The staff were pleasant. Parking plentiful. Breakfast (eggs, hash browns, beans, sausages, bacon etc.) was included. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants/shops. Perfect for our stay."

"The stay was very good. My only slight criticism was that the digital check-in details, in which I gave details about my arrival and a request for a first floor room didn’t appear to have made it to the reception staff. The actual check-in receptionist was very good. "

"I LOVED this place! A proper British pub, that was so cozy it felt like home. I absolutely loved the towel warmers ( we don't have that in the US) and the Ily coffee in the room with a French press and cookies. Was an extra cherry on top! The bed was so comfortable and felt like I was in the countryside tucked away from the world. I absolutely loved it and would 10/10 come back and stay again! Not to mention the breakfast was absolutely fabulous! Thank you for such a great stay!"

"The building is centuries old, so keep that in mind. The stairs are not always level, but they manage to provide modern amenities. The restaurant is a favorite among locals for good reason. And the House is across the street from the cathedral. So convenient."

"We stayed in the room called 'The General' - A gorgeous room in the main building with a lovely four poster bed and a balcony. The room was great, it could just do with a little TLC on a few parts (Very minor). Great staff, lovely pub and wonderful food and drink."
