Informed main desk that the room was stale and bathroom sink smelt of drains - not sure anything was done. On last day, our room wasn’t cleaned and had to get fresh towels - prompt response. Hotel design is modern, clean and central to York´s attractions. I stayed for 4 nights, the standard rooms are well equipped, great design, and comfortable. The room was clean, overlooked a lovely garden. The pool and spa were excellent. The food was good. The staff were well trained and knowledgeable especially the restaurant staff who knew all about different dietary requirements and were able to give clear information.
