"This is a lovely hotel in a historic building. It’s walking distance to all the sights of Stonetown. Our room was clean and comfortable. The balcony looked out to the Indian Ocean. Go north to Kendwa / Nungwi, it's a completely different world and pretty much paradise.

One has to be very carefuly interms of tours. Some will rip u off. Some will be average, some cheap bt cheap is expensive coz u wil end up paying most tour entry all by yourself wherever u go while already paid some amount.So do the maths carefully.

Stone Town is very poor and run down so don't expect the 'wow' factor. The majority of decent architecture has seen much better days but still a fascinating insight into the history of the island.
