Very welcoming , friendly people. Hi higly recommend this destination and stone town view hotel.
Go north to Kendwa / Nungwi, it's a completely different world and pretty much paradise.
One has to be very carefuly interms of tours. Some will rip u off. Some will be average, some cheap bt cheap is expensive coz u wil end up paying most tour entry all by yourself wherever u go while already paid some amount. So do the maths carefully.
Stone Town is very poor and run down so don't expect the 'wow' factor. The majority of decent architecture has seen much better days but still a fascinating insight into the history of the island.
Loved the beach at Kendwa rock, prison island, the people seemed honest, spice gardens was quite educative.
