"The room itself was clean and fine.. Since it was a hot stretch, it was essential that they provided a fan. The lack of air conditioning is, I guess to be expected, but the thermostat in the room did appear broken. My major concern was with the lack of upkeep of the parking lots and grounds of the hotel. "The property itself was a lovely upstairs room, generous in size and very close to the rail station with a direct line to Edinburgh. We had a two night stay and found the bed to be very comfortable. A generous soak bath tub is in the main bedroom. Little snacks were a pleasant gift. "They told us up front there was no A/C, but we figured, 70 and raining would be fine. Well was 79 and sunny, and with only one tiny window that only opened 2 inches, the place was like sweatbox. The upside, is that the staff were wonderful! The restaurant next door has a great pub, and excellent fish and chips!"
