The place is magical! I have never seen so many stars at once light pollution is minimal, and you can even hear stags from the nearby woods. A true heaven for hikers, simply something special. The people we met (I presume the owners) were very kind. Access to the kitchen is great. The room was basic, as expected, but the bed was very comfy to my liking. This place has massive potential with some investment, they could easily charge double for these rooms. I would definitely stay again.
Staff were excellent, and very hospitable. The food at their restaurant/cafe was simply superb. The room was decent, pretty much as advertised. A couple of minor issues about the facilities were brought to the owners' attention, but otherwise, the stay was a very pleasant experience. Thank you!
Spent my weekend at the Ariundle Centre Bunkhouse in mid September.
The place was busy enough, but not crowded.
Met friendly people, enjoying a variety of activities.
Made a new friend.
Really appreciated the helfulness of the Ariundle Centre volunteers.
After my first night, I discovered I had acquired a screw in my tyre.
And I was assisted with good advice and the offer of a trolley jack, which made the tyre change quick and straightforward.
That gesture allowed to save a lot of time!
Also, I really appreciated the Ariundle people's hospitality and responsiveness.
I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Friendly service, good food, but not top notch on clienliness.
Ariundle is one of a kind! Kate and Laura were incredible hosts and went well beyond the call of duty. One of our party left their passport when we left and Laura was so supportive and helpful. The room was excellent, older but clean and the beds are comfy, and the food at the tea room, wow!!!!!
It was nice and warm, the mattresses could do with upgrading and tv,s that work but the staff were awesome, especially the girl who makes the awesome cakes there especially the scones and i told her so.it is in the middle of nowhere so is hard to find but once there its stunning. Plus we were very lucky to witness a pair of eagles fly over us.
We booked a room a few weeks prior to our trip, upon arrival we were assigned the self contained flat with its own kitchen! We were delighted.
The area is gorgeous, very remote and peaceful, with lots of scenery within easy walking distance.
All of the staff were lovely, very friendly, as were the other guests we came across. Great knowledge of the local area and walk / shop suggestions.
It's a great base in this part of Scotland, we got up early to go and see the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the location let us get there early!
Next time I travel to the Fort William area I'll definitely be staying here again!
The lady who I spoke to was really lovely as we were running late but we were still able to access the room. This was a very appreciative from a very exhausting climb. Only disappointment is that we didn’t get to try the home cooking.

This is a great place located around a mile or so from Strontian, off the beaten track. I had the twin (bunk bed) room in the bunkhouse next to the kitchen. Room was clean, tidy with a separate toilet, shower, sink. The TV and Freesat did not work (no channels) but frankly that didn’t matter as the weekend was about getting away from the Rat Race. Bed was small (but I big), but comfortable. The sound of a babbling brook, the smell of wood smoke and stars in the dark sky at night was enough entertainment for me. Kate, Colin and the young man in the Ariundle Centre next door were all friendly and welcoming. The Ariundle Centre is a real gem! Highly recommended!
This is a very rundown property with limited amenities. The Yellow Bunkroom was tiny and the bathroom was very old. A neighboring dog barked throughout the night. The pictures were very obviously taken many years ago.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The rooms are spacious but with really basic furniture. Beds ok, bathroom definitely needing some renovation… the washbasin is really small and positioned at kids height ( probably this is a scouts lodging area..) , shower and the rest really in poor conditions. For a one night stay the location is ok , but it is definetely overpriced. Dinner was good but we had to wait 1.5 hour for a simple vegetable crumble…
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
We arrived very very late at night due to a car accident on the road. We were exhausted and hungry.
The owner and staff were waiting for us, still gave us hot food, tea, beer, wine anything we wished. I can't thank enough for that night!
The dining room was pleasant either at night with a candle on the table or in the morning having breakfast (nice and crispy rolls with egg and bacon)
If you are looking for an escape from a busy city life, this is the place to switch off.
A terrible experience.
Shameful and unacceptable: at 4:45 in the morning someone opened the door of our room (the broken lock does not allow closing). We got scared and immediately ran away.
I hope Hotels will provide a refund.
The building is old and poorly cared.
The rooms can't be closed (the lock is broken) and they are bare and dirty.
The furniture is little and badly tanned.
The structure is no longer suitable for welcoming guests.
The staff is kind but unprepared (The check in consisted of writing my name on a blank sheet, no document check).
The only positive thing: good dinner.

BAD - They double booked our room
GOOD - They found us somewhere else to stay within two hours.
BAD - We had to pay again the new place upfront then claim a refund from Expedia after the trip.
This review is not an opinion, these are the bare facts
Very very dirty and messy. No clear direction as to which bunk, many bunks with old bedding on. Dirty nappies from long ago in the bin. Milk months old in the fridge and smelling. States wifi but none and no phone signal so made work I had planned to do very difficult, wouldn't have booked if I had known this. Needs a lot of TLC and cleaning.
While I understand this is an accommodation, not a hotel, there were several concerning issues during my stay. The cleanliness was far below acceptable standards—the room wasn’t just dirty, it was filthy, with trash left behind from previous guests. Additionally, there was no lock on the room door because a previous guest had taken it, leaving us to use a knife to get back in. The toilet was dirty, and contrary to what is advertised, there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms; it’s only available in the dining area, which felt misleading.
The only positive aspect was the availability of a laundry machine. However, it seems they are either severely understaffed or possibly have no staff on-site. Be sure to bring your own towel, as the one provided was extremely dirty.
Overall, I would not recommend staying here—it’s simply not worth it.
