"This is a wonderful hotel. The staff couldn't be nicer, the place is clean, the beds are comfy, the water pressure & shower are great. There's a mini fridge in the room, a kettle, mugs and real classes - no plastic. And they give you all these nice little extras - fruit and cookies when you arrive, a welcome drink, and free tea and coffee in your room. The free shuttle to the airport is an added plus."

"This is our second time back to the Palacio do Freixo, and it is the most fantastic and elegant place. The hotel and grounds are palatial, but the staff and service is the key to the elegance of our stay and experience there. I’m so regretful that I cannot recall the name of the man at the front desk who checked us in, but he was so extraordinarily helpful and professional, getting us reservations for a river cruise. We have the highest recommendations for the hotel, and our stay was...

"The Check In staff was amazing! But Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We realized that the AC in our room was not working properly, so we contacted the staff and asked if something could be done, including the possibility of changing rooms. We had to wait before being given another room, which was already inconvenient.
When we finally received the new room, it was noticeably smaller and much less comfortable than our original room. I had also contacted the hotel about a month...

"Room was lovely and clean, sink badly cracked but everything else ok. Breakfast excellent. spa facilities seemed very good.
Staff very friendly and helpful. A bit out of the centre which was ok but for one thing - one street which we accidentally returned by on first afternoon glaringly the red light area - minutes from the hotel. I was glad I was not alone as I often am on holiday. Only reason I would not return to the hotel. Ok for a couple or group not a solo female traveller"
