"The room and bathroom were excellent and the brkfst was perfect. The air/heat was working well. Everyone was very helpful and ready to offer more. The last morning we were there they laid out an early breakfast even though I think we were the only ones there and were leaving before breakfast would normally have begun. My husband and I would definitely recommend Villa Rio Guest House to friends. "

"The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. There was a large selection of foods for breakfast each morning. The rooftop bar was a great place to relax in the evening with entertainment provided most nights. The pool area looked very inviting but it was a bit too cold to take a swim at the time of year we went. The hotel is situated between Portimao and Praia da Rocha and to explore around the area you need good fitness levels for walking or a car to explore further afield...

"We had a really enjoyable stay in the first week of May 2026. The staff at the hotel were great, really kind and provide great customer service, especially Harley on reception. The hotel was always clean including the pool area and restaurants. Food was very good both for breakfast and at the onsite restaurant for lunch and dinner. Would be happy to return."

"Lovely location opposite the beach, quiet at night, amazingly big room with a balcony looking out at the beach. Plenty of space to sit by the pool when we went and it was great drinking cocktails by the pool but it was too cold to go in the water. Breakfast was really good too with lots of options and the staff were very helpful and friendly."

Wir hatten 2 (!) grosse Schiebetüren zu einem grossen Balkon mit Blick auf mehrere Sportplätze. Das Bad war gross und hatte sogar ein Bidet. Wenn man mit der Lupe sucht, fehlte ein Spender mit Flüssig seife für die Hände. Das Frühstück war umfangreich un frisch. "

We had emphasized the importance of a good beach view to us and the view from our balcony was excellent. The Bar also had a good light menu when we weren’t hungry for a big neal."
