"It’s a nice place but very hot in the apartments if the sun is out and it’s a nice day (which isn’t that often, but when it is be ready for a hot room). The staff communicated very well and were pleasant. The apartments are self serviced so don’t expect any cleaning service etc. We enjoyed it. The location is a bit out of town but a small supermarket close by, a nice bistro across the street, and two gyms to choose from (we chose World class)."

"Really cool place. Staff was completely amazing. Above and beyond. And the breakfast was one of the most amazing I’ve ever had! I’d go back just for that!! The berry juice was so good, and so much variety. The restaurant looks out over the lake. Hot tub was just ok. Area around the hotel very pretty. Room was very spacious and well appointed, if dated in style. Removed one star for a musty smell and the very weird decor, including a strange and out of place Mexico theme. "

"The property felt like home away from home. It was close to the city 15 mins by car. The grocery store was across the street within walking distance. The apartment was spacious. It had all the amenity needed as my home would have, cook top, refrigerator, nice closet for storage, comfy sofa, shared washing machine and dryer in all floors. The property manager was quick in answering all questions no matter today or night. I did not want to leave. Best experience I have had staying away from home....

"Everything was perfect! We had a great stay, the host (Ingo) was very nice and kind, and helped me with my parking payment issue. But keep in mind that the free street parking might be limited, we were lucky to get the last parking spot at around 7:30-8:00pm. And keep in mind, the laundry is not self-service, so you may need to allow more time for the laundry company to wash and dry your clothes."

"Check-in was a bit confuse due to the address of the property, Cleaniess: The 2 bathroom sinks in both bathroon has a funky smell. Other than that the bathrooms are cleaned. The wood floor is dirty and a bit old that need to be updated. Host: Very nice, very responsive and accommodation for us to check in a bit early on arrive date and check out a bit late on depart date. Location: very convinience close to shopping groceries, restaurant and bus stop."

"The room and the hotel are lovely. There were a few issues that we wish had been better. The TV kept blanking out, was hard to navigate channels and was way too low to bee seen from bed while watching the news! Minor, but worth mentioning. The LARGE picture windows had drapes that would not block the light from the corners requiring us to wear sleep masks every night. "Excellent service and lively location. The breakfast was delicious, and its staff was charming and helpful. One caveat in the rooms: our bathroom had granite floors and walls. There were no rails or grab bars. Although beautiful, it was VERY slippery when wet. Be extra careful! We would stay here again without hesitation and recommend The Sand Hotel to others."

"Just had a 3-night stay at ION City. Staffs were all friendly and amazing. Location is in the core downtown tourism area of reykjavic so that could be pro or cons depending on what you like. It's a little bit loud outside especially if the room is towards the street, but window is reasonably sound-proof. One issue was that when I first arrived there were a few blood drops in the bath towels, but after I raised that issue the room service was all good for the rest of the stay. Overall 4/5. "
