"I was never able to get to the hotel due to road closures caused by flooding in the area. The hotel never communicated to me via any means before hand. I made multiple attempts trying to get to the hotel through different roads and all ended up being closed at a some point. The sun went down and it was very dark. "The property was beautiful, but I found that the amenities were lacking for guests. Only certain things were available at certain times, the staff could not provide milk for my coffee in the morning, I had to get it from the kitchen, and apparently they are not the same company. It just seemed weird. The view from the room was amazing and the included tour was very good."

"We had a comfortable room with a patio overlooking the Douro River. Staff very friendly. The only negative from our point of view was the window from the shower into the room. The botton 2/3 rds are translucent and upper 1/3 clear. If a light is turned on in bathroom bedroom is lit up as well . Also the obvious privacy issues. Other than the the room , hotel , staff, bar and restaurant are great."
