We arrived atound 17:30 on a busy Saturday night. We had received confirmation of our booking earlier in the day and also completed the online check in. On arrival we were told that there was actually no room available. We had just completed a 22KM stage of a Pilgrim walk and we were exhausted. The reception members said the only thing they could do was offer us aroom in another hotel at 100 euros more. We were not offered any refreshments and no genuine explanation of how they could allow us to check in on line when there was no room available. We stayed in the reception area for two hours trying to organise a nearby room at a similar price . The manager of the hotel was only available by telephone and he was very unhelpful.
The irony of the situation is that the hotel dispays a notice in reception that they are supportive of pilgrims.
Naturally being exhausted, two females [ 65 and 71 ] we were very concerned about having nowhere to stay. We became upset and the reception staff told us to leave or they would call the police.
