"Incredible property. Exactly as pictured. If you’ve ever been on a 5 star African safari this is the Costa Rican equivalent. Only disappointment was our room didn’t have a volcano view as pictured but the room was incredible nonetheless and the main dining and pool area had a great view of the volcano. "

"Beautiful property, loved the campus design! Great location. My only comment on the property is it could use some upgrades. Found the mattress to be outdated and hard. They have awesome waterfall shower but the regular shower with jets needs to be cleaned from water build up for it to be usable. Overall enjoyed the stay. "

"I cannot say enough about our stay here. The owner helped my friend picking herbs and making a tea to settle her stomach. They ensured we had enough towels and checked in daily with us. Theu staff were very helpful. They have just added 2 new rooms and the views aroind the property were perfect. There is a swinging bridge you walk over to get to breakfast in the morning and they follow their schedule it was perfect and i am already planning my next visit back"

"The breakfast was a let down- the coffee was burnt- the meat (ham/ sandwich meat) had been sitting out for hours, and was warm. The shower door was about to fall off and there was a lot of mold in the bathroom. It seems that they take care with the gardens and hot springs, but just quickly wipe down and change the sheets and towels in the cabins- no regular maintenance is done on the cabins. "Our stay at Hotel Lavas Tacotal was overall a really enjoyable experience, with a few areas that could be improved. The highlights were definitely the incredible views of Arenal Volcano — waking up to that scenery was unreal. The room itself was massive, very clean, and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after long days exploring. "Thoroughly enjoyed this resort, our home for 6 days. Not pretentious, truly authentic beauty. All staff were not only accommodating, but felt like friends, Joaquin, Luis, Jorge, Fernando, Leah and Justin, to name a few.
