"Clean and great staff"

"Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations. The beautiful setting and old grand building were a beautiful site as we arrived. Staff are very helpful in booking reservations ahead of our arrival. Bathroom was fantastic in the family suite with big soaking tub and jets. The dinner at the restaurant was very memorable treat and all staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. Both continental breakfast and the cooked breakfast were delicious. "I never had of Newcastle West before, but if you are ever in this town, this is the place to be. My wife considered the breakfast "the best Irish breakfast in Ireland," and who am I to disagree? We truly enjoyed our stay (and the breakfast) as well the friendly staff including (especially Derek the manager). We need disability-friendly accommodations, and this hotel, in this regard, was a great place to stay. The true test of any hotel, is "Would you go back?," and we would gladly come back...

"This place was clean, quiet, and safe, and is in a pretty setting near/on estate lands. Very convenient from the highway for access to local tourist spots and Shannon Airport. The hotel is super large and sprawling. It seems to be very popular with young families. At our Expedia rate it was pretty basic in terms of amenities. We took a look at the breakfast, which wasn't included in our rate, and it also seemed basic, so we gave it a pass. Great local bakeries and other spots to choose from...

"The bar and atmosphere were amazing! This hotel was super busy with tour buses and big groups coming through. The food is great and the service excellent! The building is old and needs updated badly. The room showed signs of being very old and not professionally maintained. Faucets leaked, carpet old, bathroom tub left a lot to be desired. Overall I would stay there again, very family friendly. Just understand it is an older hotel."

"I appreciate the hotel was close to the airport. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff was very friendly and able to make a taxi reservation for my next day departure. The taxi arrived at the appropriate time. The restaurant staff were very kind."

"Great friendly staff, willing to help and make the stay the best possible. Hotel was undergoing some renovations, a good thing, but did make unavailable some portions. The restaurant was excellent and the waitstaff was terrific. Room was clean and comfortable. The gym had mostly cardio equipment, some free weights and a universal machine. However it was stuffy and not air conditioned (making it smell more like a gym) and had no fan, making it uncomfortable to use, so I didn't stay long. ...

"The staff at reception were very welcoming and efficient. The 'deluxe' room overlooked the golf course. The bedroom was dated but the superking bed was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very disappointing, quite dated with limescale and mould on taps and shower head. The shower curtain was mouldy and bath mat clean but discoloured with age. I've stayed in better premier Inn rooms. There was a good selection on offer for breakfast."

"I cannot say enough about how good My stay was. Staff were by far the best I have ever seen. Hotel and the room were spotless. Every Morning I had a traditional Irish Breakfast which was delicious. Unfortunately, there was Heatwave when I arrived 30c which even for an American from New Jersey is Hot. I would have been and Idiot If I had expected air conditioning due to the fact temps like that are extremally rare and if they happen at all it would only be a few days every summer. But they did...

"We booked an appartment with 2 bedrooms. Lots of space. Campus is beautiful. Rooms a little 'old' but well equipped (freezer, washing machine)...Missing some kitchen tools, teapot, hair dryer etc. "

"My dad couldn’t stop raving about this place. He loved the build of the lodge hotel. Our toilet wasn’t working properly, and the manager came late at night to give us an upgrade. Such friendly staff, and Nelligan’s has a delicious menu!"
