"The Ocean Resort was quite nice, the main draw is its location. It sits directly on the beach. Simply walk out the back door and onto the boardwalk and beach. Each room has an ocean view w/private balcony that allows guests to sit comfortably and keep an eye on the boardwalk and the waves.
It was a good to be able to sit on the balcony and see where our older children were. We visited during a very hot time and the good air conditioning was a welcomed amenity. We relied heavily on the air conditioning when we ventured out to walk around in the heat.
Parking at the hotel proper is very small. They do have an extra parking area, but it is across the street. It isn't far, but not convenient when loading or unloading. You can pull up to the entrance to load or unload, but this area is busy every afternoon and makes it a challenge. The hotel and rooms are pretty old and dated, but is clean and comfortable.
The staff was helpful, but we did have a traumatic and negative incident. This hotel and nearly everywhere in the area are very strict about "guests only" using facilities. One night, my husband and I were asleep early and our teen-aged son went down in the lobby to talk to his friends by phone. He had his own room card but one of the night staff argued with him that he needed to leave and didn't belong there. He showed him his card and told him of his family's reservation, but the staffer said our name was not in the system. That was false, We paid for 2 rooms."
