"Clean and quiet hotel with a beachy boho vibe and lovely garden. The little kitchen in our suite had everything we needed for a couple of meals in. It’s a short walk to the centre and boardwalk/beaches. The staff were very kind and one of them saved the day by sorting out the tv for us so we could watch the football game! Great place to stay."

"Our check in process was not smooth. Upon booking on Expedia I used the search parameters for 1 adult + 2 children. I booked a one bedroom suite knowing the pull out sofa will be used for my second child. I chose to add buffet breakfast as prompted when selecting the room. I paid EUR27 for the ‘add on’. "Vila Luz is a great family hotel. We stayed in the upper section which has an extremely heated pool. A bit warm when the temperature is over 30celsius, great when the temperature dropped to 20celcius. The bigger, lower pool is less heated and great when it's very hot. Everything was clean, and the breakfast buffet was good, and well stocked, if a little repetitive. The staff are very friendly and helfpul. "A very aged resort Nice location to old town But they operate in a disingenuous way. After our booking we reveived an email to select a room number. It was a poorly veiled attempt to upsell. Every room number cost more. Some $200 or more per night. We did not bite. As a result we got a room in the back of the resort with a view of the alley. But I'm glad we didn't upgrade, as the rest of the resort is worn and dated. Not 4 stars maybe 3 if your generous"
