"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The site is beautiful and provides many sustainable options for activities and cooking (e.g., hiking trail, parks, wood-fire pizza oven on site). We also traveled with our dogs and will add that the site and the glamping cabin is very dog-friendly, offering an off-leash area for the dogs to run around and a washing station. The staff were also very responsive to questions via text. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning."

"The Mountain House is unique. It is truly an old house that has been modified to include rooms and a restaurant. There are about 8-10 rooms in the Main House where we stayed. There is a separate building called the Bunkhouse out back. The room was clean but very small and tight. More so that I thought was possible but we got used to it. "Over all stay was okay but when you book through Expedia, they don't provide a good room. I don't know what is the deal between them or it's about the person who stays there. Am an Asian obviously I can't change my face I wish I could to treat equally. "Checking in was a nightmare, not on the property manager but on hotels.com. Hotels.com had the wrong property manager listed, didn’t share my info with the real property so they could contact me. I had to track down the real property manager myself the morning before i left causing me to leave late. "Facility is old but serious efforts have been made to update. New dropped ceilings, fairly new furnishings, new paint, quaint etc. Very clean and comfortable. I had very limited contact with staff, but that was pleasant. There was some road noise but not terrible. Spacious parking was at the room entry. Some of the room photos are misleading. "Loved Outpost Inn; highly recommend and can't imagine staying anywhere else in town -- incredible vibe, great coffee shop and wine bar, lots of cute spots to sit inside and outside. It felt like the place in town when all the younger, cooler (young meaning, 50 and under, ha) hang out. I loved my room, which was spacious and comfortable. I appreciated the free drip coffee in the mornings. And wow, the weather in Highlands can't be beat in the summer."

"I reserved a room 6 months in advance, but upon check-in was told that they “don’t assign rooms until the day of” so they do not guarantee you get the type of room you reserved. In fact, we did not have 2 beds as reserved. It seems that the reservation system is broken as they should only book what they know they have. Or, at the very least, assign rooms first come, first serve. Very disappointing."
