"The resort was stunning, the rooms were beautiful and spacious. Thanks to being a Gold member at Expedia, we got a free room upgrade, which was awesome. Our only issue was that because there were three weddings (and one rehearsal) scheduled during our 4 night stay, the main dining buffet was closed. It’s not about the folks getting married (congrats to all the couples), but to shut down the main dining option because the kitchen has to focus on the wedding parties leaves all the other guests with limited options and long wait times at the other restaurants. The weddings took over either the beachfront boardwalk or the main pool area or the main steps of the lobby, so for decent chunks of time (several hours from evening to night) those areas were blocked off. The Japanese restaurant was by far the best, and the drinks were good, but all the bars except the lobby bar closed by 6pm. There are people who will offer you a 90 min “tour” or “visit” to a sister resort to show you “how booking through them is different than Expedia”. It’s a sales pitch that lasts 4 hours. They specifically withhold details and call it a visit, when it really should be shared as a very intense marketing sales pitch. The folks made us very uncomfortable and insinuated we only took the opportunity because of the vouchers offered, saying we’d do anything for “free stuff”. When in reality it was pitched very different and information was left intentionally vague. Aside from that, pretty good spot."
