This is Luther Williams Field. It has been home to a number of teams, most recently The Macon Peaches, a minor league team. It began it's long tenure as a field early in the 1900s'. It is one of the longest lasting and still enduring fields in the nation.

More recently a movie, 42, was partially filmed here and the surrounding Macon area. The movie is the story of Jackie Robinson, the first African American player to play in the National Baseball League. It opens April 2nd. The field seen in the movie and the tunnel that is seen in the posters was here. You can now walk around this field and even today, there are still baseball games played here.

This field has been home to some famous players. During the their minor league tenure Pete Rose, Tony Perez, Andrew Jones, and Chipper Jones called this park home. Chipper Jones number, 10, will be retired this year at the Braves stadium.

"The staff was courteous, but the room left some to be desired. The bathroom has a lot of damage, or maybe they are in the middle on remodeling and decided to rent the room anyway! Flooring was peeling, everything appeared to not be completed. I have stayed in many Motel 6 locations, but this location requires a deposit of $35 before they will let you check in. They have a 3pm check in, so if you are in a room, and make another reservation to add more days to your stay, they may make you leave...

"Hotel was awful. Room was poorly maintained. Slept in my clothes on top of the bed as I was worried about bedbugs. Shady, strung out clientele hanging around outside the buildings/rooms all night long. Amenities were lacking (other than 1 towel and a broken fridge there was nothing). I would not recommend anyone stay at this location. Had we not checked in past the cancellation window, we would have found a different place. Sleeping at a rest stop in my car would have been safer/more...

"Room reserved was (2) Queen Bed - Room Received was (1) King Bed. Language barrier, rare, at Check-In. After back n forth: had to come back in two+ hours to actually 'check in' thru computer which was 'uploading' or otherwise not ready at actual check-in. TV: couldn't get any reception - decided NOT to re-visit language issues or whatever else. Pillows not comfy. Stains on bedspread. Insect (uknowhat) in bathroom. Just One, but... Hard to regulate temp in Room - window Unit, too much at 69deg to...
