"Not the friendliest of welcomes. A meeting cancellation meant I arrived early but I wasn't allowed to check in. The staff I encountered throughout my stay were distant and aloof. Signage around the sprawling site was poor so I ended up wandering around to find various amenities. For the positives, the room was clean and the breakfast was good quality "

"Really attentive staff at the bar a big thank you to Jack for serving us on Friday. Mixed reviews on the room, one couple moved because of noisy guests my upgrade given to another member of our group so that was annoying and only one charger working so not able to charge our car. Other guests being disrespectful to the adjoining property smoking out of the window ! Bed really comfy abc a fabulous shower and lovely toiletries. "We stayed at Thatcher’s Hotel (part of Surya Hotels) for three nights during half term. Overall, it’s an average hotel but offers good value for money. The rooms have been renovated and are modern and comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable which we appreciated. However, there were a few downsides. "We spent two nights at the hotel and were very pleased from the moment we arrived. The décor was lovely, the room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was big and extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. We used the spa facilities on the day of arrival, and it was wonderfully quiet — we were able to enjoy the sauna, steam room,pool and the gym without any waiting. "Staff were lovely - reception, bar and restaurant The food was pretty good - fish beautiful, steak cooked well, sauces full of flavour - just chocolate fondant sadly overdone. I love the chilled & sparkling water tap! However, rooms are looking very tired, old and in need of a refurb. Better pillows, USB ports and adding some soundproofing would be good too On the whole great service, food & drinks but poor rooms and sleep quality "
