"My stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Lake Norman was extremely disappointing. The first issue was the cleanliness of our room. A boot was left under the bed from a previous guest, which immediately made me question how well the room had been cleaned. The biggest concern was the pool area. One of my kids stepped on tiny metal bristles that were scattered in the pool. "My second stay here and they knocked it out of the park once again, will always try to stay here if I’m coming through town!"

"The check-in staff was not pleasant at all. The hotel smelled like cigarettes and I am not a smoker. The suite looked like it had not been booked in a while. It had not been vacuumed or dusted in a while. It did not have a fresh smell to it at all. Aluminum foil was covering something in the ceiling and the television only had a sound (no picture). I informed the morning clerk an and his reaction was wow! Definitely OVERPRICED!!!! I will never stay there again and definitely will not recommend...

"Our room was well stocked and clean and the staff was helpful and accommodating. We were traveling with a pet and there was a pet play area and toileting supplies in a shady area with a bench handy for outdoor needs! Breakfast was fresh and diverse in offerings. We enjoyed and appreciated our stay."

"Whole 4th floor I stayed on smelled like marijuana. Ended up checking out early and not staying last night. I let the staff know why I was checking out early. They stated they were aware of the smell and tried to remedy but were un successful. I had hoped they would refund the last night but did not"
